January 14, 2015

The Twin City Steel, proud members of the NA3HL, are pleased to announce that forward David Becker (Waterloo, Iowa) has committed to play NCAA Hockey at Bethel University. Bethel is a member of National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III and is a proud member of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC).
“David is a very hard worker both on and off the ice,” said Steel General Manager Bryant Black. “His focus and determination to improve as a hockey player are what created this opportunity for himself.”
Becker, 20, is currently the leading scorer for the Steel with 32 points (12G, 20A) in 27 games played this season.
When asked about Bethel and how he got there Becker stated... “in my process of choosing a school to play for I was looking for a home for the next four years, I chose Bethel because it felt like a great place to call home. The Steel staff really helped me connect with Bethel and playing for the Steel has helped me develop as a player and as a person. I am very excited to throw on a Royals jersey next season and begin my career with Bethel.”
When asked how about Becker’s commitment Bethel University Head Coach Charlie Burggraf stated, "We are excited about David's decision to become a Royal as he is the type of player both off and on the ice we are building our program with. On the ice his skill, playmaking and quickness are tools that will help him transition quickly to NCAA hockey. We look forward to his arrival this Fall."
David Becker is the 1st official commit of the 2014-15 season for the Twin City Steel.
