The Binghamton Junior Senators of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that defenseman Matt Emerick, 21, has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey at Lebanon Valley College (ECAC).
Emerick (6’1/190) played with the Junior Sens for half of the 2016-17 season, beginning with the NA3HL Showcase. In 18 regular season games, the native of Whitehall, Pennsylvania, had six points.
Emerick also appeared in eight playoff games during Binghamton’s run to an appearance at the NA3HL Silver Cup Tournament. In eight playoff games he recorded three points.
“When Matt decided to come back in December, he solidified our defense fast becoming one of our top four defensemen. He played a very big part the rest of the season and playoffs. We couldn't be more happy to see him continue on with a great program such as Lebanon Valley,” said Binghamton General Manager Ray Welsh.
Emerick spent the 2015-16 in the NA3EHL with both the Wilkes-Barre Miners and the Syracuse Stampede.
