Pittsburgh defenseman Picariello makes NCAA commitment
July 11, 2017

The Pittsburgh Vengeance of the NA3HL are proud to announce that defenseman Martino Picariello has committed to NCAA Division III hockey this fall for the Mustangs of Stevenson University.
Picariello, 20, had an unfortunate start to his Vengeance career by getting hurt in his first game in a Pittsburgh uniform. This didn't hold the 5'9/188 lbs. native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania product back for long as he became a significant part in Pittsburgh's run to the East Final that saw the Vengeance come up one game short of a Silver Cup berth.
Picariello began the season playing in the NAHL for the Aston Rebels. In 16 games, he recorded one goal.
Prior to playing for Pittsburgh and Aston, Picariello spent time with Team Comcast in 2015-16 and the New Jersey Jr. Titans in 2014-15.
"Martino first came back to us during Game 1 of the East Finals and he scored two huge goals, including the game tying goal with under five seconds to play," said Pittsburgh Head Coach Dave Dorsey. "He's a mobile defenseman that plays bigger than his size and will be a great asset to the Stevenson program.”
