North Iowa defenseman Drougas signs NAHL tender agreement
June 7, 2018

The North Iowa Bulls of the NA3HL are proud to announce the signing of defenseman Luke Drougas to a North American Hockey League (NAHL) tender agreement with the Johnstown Tomahawks. Drougas is the fifth Bulls player to sign an NAHL tender for the 2018-19 season.
Despite playing only two regular-season games and two postseason contests for the Bulls, his brief time in Mason City was enough to make an impact on the Tomahawks, who will look to improve upon their 23-33-2-2 record and fifth-place finish in the East Division during the 2017-18 campaign. All four outings came against eventual Fraser Cup semifinalist La Crosse, including a +3 performance on March 2 in his junior debut.
Drougas also made an impression as a member of the Madison Capitols' 18-and-under team in the North American Prospects Hockey League, appearing in seven games for the Caps and tallying three assists.
The North Iowa Bulls congratulate Luke Drougas on his agreement to join the Johnstown Tomahawks for the upcoming season, and wish him the very best as the 2018-19 NAHL season gets underway.
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include one tender exclusively used on players from the NA3HL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which was held on June 5, 2018.
