Brandon Speights had five points in a weekend sweep of College Station.
College Station Spirit 2 @ Mid Cities Jr. Stars 13 - Seth McArdle struck for four goals in the first period, Cameron Tobey also added a hat-trick and the Mid Cities Jr. Stars romped to a 13-2 victory over College Station at home on Monday. Nick Solema, Brandon Speights, Hunter Leonhard, Jonah Carlson, Josh Linn and Ryan Muckensturm also scored for the Stars, while Noah Kinsinger stopped 15 of 17 pucks, conceding only to Ryan Martell and Trevor Borlace of College Station. Spirit netminders Luigi Giustra and Chase Allen combined for 55 saves on 68 shots.
Atlanta Capitals 1 @ Louisiana Drillers 2 (OT) - Neither team found twine until the third period, but a quick trade of goals in the final 20 and a Blake Siewertsen OT game-winner lifted Louisiana to a 2-1 win over Atlanta in extra time. Ayrton Cornic put the Capitals ahead early in the third, but the Drillers responded fewer than two minutes later with Mitch Dolese's eighth goal of the season, which eventually forced overtime where Siewertsen knocked home his own rebound to take both points for Louisiana. Samuli Aarinen stopped 33 shots in the Drillers' cage, while Leo LaPata of Atlanta faced down 40 in the opposite crease.
