Granite City forward Dodge signs NAHL tender
February 26, 2019

The Granite City Lumberjacks of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that forward Daymin Dodge has signed a North American Hockey League (NAHL) tender agreement with the Kenai River Brown Bears of the NAHL’s Midwest Division.
Dodge, 18, is in his first season of playing junior hockey with the Lumberjacks. The 5’7/150 lbs. native of Sauk Rapids, Minnesota, appeared in 13 games to start the season with the Lumberjacks and recorded 13 points (4 goals, 9 assists).
Dodge then went onto play high school hockey for the past couple of months for Sauk Rapids-Rice High in Minnesota, where he led the team in scoring this season with 51 points in just 25 games played.
Dodge is expected to join the West Division champion Lumberjacks for the remainder of the seson and Fraser Cup playoff run.
“We are very happy for Daymin in signing an NAHL tender. With his tenacious style of play I feel he will do very well in the NAHL next season,” said Granite City head coach Brad Willner.
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include one tender exclusively used on players from the NA3HL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which will be held on June 4, 2019.
