Willmar defenseman Martinelli signs NAHL tender
March 6, 2019

The Willmar WarHawks of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that Top Prospects defenseman Adrian Martinelli has signed a North American Hockey League (NAHL) tender agreement with the Topeka Pilots of the NAHL’s South Division.
Martinelli, 19, is in his first season of playing junior hockey, which has been spent between the NA3HL and the NAHL this season. The 6’2/190 lbs. native of Grosse Point, Michigan, has spent the majority of the season with Willmar, recording 15 points (1 goal, 14 assists) in 32 games played.
Martinelli has also played in seven NAHL games this season, including five with the Northeast Generals and two with the Austin Bruins.
Martinelli was also selected to and played in the 2019 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament for the West Division team.
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include one tender exclusively used on players from the NA3HL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which will be held on June 4, 2019.
