Peoria forward Bentley signs NAHL tender agreement
December 26, 2019

The Peoria Mustangs of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that forward Dillan Bentley has signed a North American Hockey League (NAHL) tender agreement with the New Mexico Ice Wolves of the NAHL’s South Division.
Bentley, 18, is currently in his first season playing for the Mustangs. So far during the 2019-20 season, the 6’4/190 lbs. native of Peoria, Illinois, is 2nd in team scoring with 36 points (18 goals, 18 assists) in 29 games played.
During the previous three seasons, Bentley played in the NAPHL for the Madison Capitols 18U and 16U teams. In May of 2019, Bentley played for one of two NAPHL teams at the NAHL 18U Top Prospects Tournament in Blaine, MN.
In 53 career NAPHL regular season games, Bentley recorded 15 points.
“I am excited to be a part of a new organization. I loved the city and the coaching staff made me feel very comfortable. I’m excited to become part of the Ice Wolves family,” said Bentley.
Keenan Kelly, the Associate Head Coach for the Ice Wolves had nothing but praise for the young forward, stating, “Dillan is a player who stood out throughout our entire tryout process last summer. He’s a big body who plays with pace and has good play-making ability. We are excited to welcome him to New Mexico.”
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include one tender exclusively used on players from the NA3HL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which will be held on June 2, 2020.
