Power announces new ownership group, name change, affiliation

August 9, 2023

The North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) has announced that it has approved the application and transfer of membership of the Milwaukee Power to West Bend Hockey Club, LLC who has purchased the team from Local Hockey Partners.

The team will rename to the West Bend Power effective immediately for the 2023-24 season and beyond. The West Bend Power will be based out of and play its home games at the Kettle Moraine Ice Center, 2330 S. Main Street, West Bend, Wisconsin.

Nic Novaczyk will serve as President of West Bend Power, Greg Petermann will serve as Vice President, Jason Woods will serve as Director of Hockey Operations, and Kris Marion will serve as Business Operations Manager.

“In the short time that the Power hockey team has been in West Bend, our city has rapidly embraced the team and players on the ice. West Bend should be the permanent home to this NA3HL team and we couldn’t be more excited to make that happen,” said West Bend Power President Nic Novaczyk.

“The city of West Bend and Washington County Youth Hockey Association has made an unbelievable connection to this team; the shared benefits for each group are the foundation of what this is all about. West Bend youth hockey, the city of West Bend, and Washington County as a whole now have a junior hockey team to call their own,” said Vice President Greg Petermann.

The West Bend Power is also proud to announce an official affiliation agreement with the NAHL’s Wisconsin Windigo in Eagle River, Wisconsin. The partnership will see West Bend Power as the NA3HL affiliate of the Windigo, with the two organizations collaborating on player development, growth, and advancement.

"We believe the Wisconsin Windigo is a first-class organization. This partnership will immensely benefit our players and provide Windigo with our support and resources. The West Bend Power can now foster player development while offering a pathway of opportunity for those on the cusp of joining a NAHL team" stated Jason Woods, Director of hockey operations for the Power.
