Sunday Wrap-Up: Capitals Complete Sweep

Tulsa 5 @ Atlanta 9 - In a game that saw a whopping 197 penalty minutes across 24 trips to the box, the Atlanta Capitals pounced the Tulsa Jr. Oilers 9-5. Ayden Spencer scored the lone goal of the first period for Atlanta, before Blake Camomile, Nick Macri, Delton Hoffman, and Brett Phillips all cashed in to put them up 5-0. Towards the end of the second, Henry Pinkerman put Tulsa on the board, before Nick Macri tacked on another for the Capitals. Caden Vos scored which wound up being the Jr. Oilers final goal of the afternoon, as Camomile, Gibby Medina, and Tristan Ward closed out the game by hitting the back of the net for Atlanta.
Wisconsin 5 @ St. Louis 0 - The Wisconsin Woodsmen blanked the St. Louis Jr. Blues Sunday afternoon. After a scoreless opening period, tallies began to roll in quick for Wisconsin, as they would score four straight. Vincent Greene, who scored twice, along with Hugh Deinema and Patrick Bowser all lit the lamp to give the Woodsmen a commanding lead. Already up big, Tristen May-Robinson tacked on another for good measure, as netminder Steven Kelley was perfect in net in stopping all 35 shots thrown his way to earn the shutout victory.
Louisiana 6 @ Texas R 3 - The Louisiana Drillers continue their league dominance, taking down the Texas RoadRunners 6-3 Sunday afternoon. The Drillers started the outing with four straight goals, courtesy of Jonathon Berndt and his pair, along with Derek Johnson and Casper Rys Sakrisvold. With just seven seconds remaining in the opening period, Cole Stranathan got Texas on the board to cut the lead down. In the middle period, Carson Spear tacked on another for Louisiana, before Jackson Cox and Charles Blake’s goals inched the RoadRunners closer. However, Cameron McEwan sealed the deal for the Drillers with his late empty-netter.
Binghamton 4 @ Long Beach 3 - During the first period, JD DiTommaso scored a goal for the Sharks assisted by Ryan Long and Evan Barbieri IV. Trent Midura tied the game for the Buzz with help from Cole Brown and Carson Curry. In the second period, Keegan Elliot scored a goal assisted by Brown and Ethan Miller. Mason Jackson scored assisted by Long and Alec Dahlvang. Michael Stojka scored a goal with assists from Jackson and Colton Kozma. Miller scored an unassisted goal. During the third period, Miller scored another unassisted goal which clutched the win for the Buzz. Matthew Ketcham made 23 saves for the Binghamton Buzz and Kameron Ragon made 60 saves for the Long Beach Sharks.
El Paso 0 @ New Mexico 4 - In the first period, Ethan Coleman scored a goal for New Mexico with help from Braeden Whitesell and Jake Wenner. Brant Tiedeman scored a goal assisted by Max Arlt. During the second period, Rory Smith increased the lead with an unassisted goal. In the third period, Coleman scored assisted by Whitesell and Kyle Mackintosh. Dylan Newton made 42 saves for the El Paso Rhinos. Connor Roff made 7 saves and Ryan Wallin made 11 saves for the New Mexico Ice Wolves.
Granite City 9 @ Willmar 1 - During the first period, Carter Oothoudt put the Lumberjacks on the board with a goal assisted by Ty Smith and Brayden Willis. In the second period, Easton Portner scored a goal assisted by Connor Miller. Dominic Thomas scored a goal with assists from Eli Tiernan and Patty Dunaiski. Dunaiski scored a goal assisted by Tiernan. Scott Woltman scored a goal for the WarHawks assisted by Nathan Hinze. Tiernan scored with help from Thomas. During the third period, Smith scored with an assist from Tiernan. Dunaiski scored assisted by Finn Greeley and Tiernan. Portner made a goal with help from Miller and Willis. Gavin Forrest added one more goal to the lead with an assist from Smith. Nick Hansen made 23 saves for the Granite City Lumberjacks and Josh Mack made 30 saves for the Willmar WarHawks.
