Power defenseman Coldwater makes NCAA Commitment

he West Bend Power of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that defenseman Kelly Coldwater has committed to play NCAA DIII hockey for Westfield State University.
Coldwater, 21, is a seasoned veteran of the NA3HL, having laced up for 102 games across stints with the St. Louis Jr. Blues and West Bend Power. A model of steady progression, Coldwater has elevated his game each season, consistently boosting both his point production and plus-minus rating. The 2024-25 season was his breakout campaign, as the St. Louis, MO native racked up 29 points (8 goals, 21 assists) and finished with a standout +23 rating. He notched multi-point performances in eight games, including a dominant three-point outing at the NA3HL Showcase, where the '04 defenseman scored once and assisted twice to help shut out the Badlands Sabres, 4-0.
His strong play didn't go unnoticed as Coldwater earned a coveted spot in the 2025 Top Prospects Tournament and capped off his season by being named to the All-Central Team in the NA3HL Awards, cementing his place among the league’s elite blueliners.
“Kelly was a tremendous addition for us at the trade deadline, he brought exactly what we needed to strengthen our defensive core. As a veteran in this league, he made an immediate impact with his poise, reliability, and ability to generate offense from the back end. His leadership and two-way play were instrumental down the stretch,” stated Power Head Coach Jason Woods. “We’re incredibly proud of him, and this college commitment is something he’s absolutely earned. He’s worked hard for this opportunity, and we’re excited to watch him take the next step in his career!”
