Rhinos defenseman McCall makes NCAA Commitment

The El Paso Rhinos of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that defenseman Liam McCall has committed to play NCAA DIII hockey for the newly established program at Hiram College.
Liam McCall, 19, made his junior debut this season as a rookie on the El Paso Rhinos, stepping onto U.S. ice full-time for the first time after making the move from Ontario, Canada. As an '06 birth year, he quickly proved he belonged, suiting up for 46 games and notching 11 points from the blue line (7 goals, 4 assists).
McCall’s breakout moment came in mid-October during a three-game set against the Texas RoadRunners. In game two, he buried the eventual game-winner in a 4-1 victory. He then followed it up with a two-goal performance in game three, opening the scoring and later netting the clutch game-tying goal that sent the Rhinos to overtime.
“Liam caught our eye this past summer at a showcase where Hiram’s coach saw exactly what we already knew, this kid can play. We were thrilled to bring him in to strengthen our blue line. Liam moves the puck with confidence, isn’t shy about jumping into the rush, and plays with a maturity well beyond his 2006 birth year,” stated Rhinos Coach Alec Sherman.” He’s got all the tools to make a real impact at the next level, and we’re excited to see what he brings to Hiram. Wishing him nothing but success as he takes this next big step in his hockey journey.”
McCall is one of four players from the Rhinos to make a college commitment this season and will join teammate Austin Renaldo on Hiram’s campus in the fall.
