Lumberjacks defenseman Johnson makes college commitment

The Granite City Lumberjacks of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that defenseman Coltin Johnson has committed to play college hockey for the University of Utah.
Johnson, 20, spent both seasons of his junior hockey career with Granite City in Sauk Rapids, appearing in 88 games and recording 34 points (7 goals, 27 assists) as a 2004‑born defenseman. He demonstrated notable growth between his first and second seasons, doubling his point production. He also earned a spot in the prestigious 2025 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan.
His standout performance of the 2024‑25 season came on December 7, when the Lumberjacks edged out the Minnesota Wilderness in a tight 3‑2 victory. Johnson played a key role in the win, scoring the team’s second goal and assisting on the game‑winner.
He’s one of seven Granite City players moving on to college hockey and will be one of four freshmen with NA3HL experience joining Utah’s roster this fall.
