New Hampshire 6 @ Maine 1 - The Jr. Mountain Kings improved to 3-0 this season against the Nordiques, notching their biggest win over the New England team to date. The opening twenty minutes were relatively quiet compared to what followed, with the lone goal of the period coming from Captain Noah Levesque, his first of the afternoon.
The second period brought much more action, featuring penalties on both sides and a trio of goals. New Hampshire struck first once again to go up 2-0 midway through the frame. Maine responded with a shorthanded goal to cut the deficit, but the Jr. Mountain Kings answered right back on the power play as Jacob Landry netted his third man-advantage tally of the season.
New Hampshire carried that momentum into the third, adding three more goals past Riley Burnett, two on the power play and one at even strength. Levesque led the charge once again, scoring twice more to complete his first hat trick of the year.
Long Beach 4 @ New Jersey 5 - The Titans earned their much-needed first win of the season after a hard-fought battle with the Sharks. The opening period featured limited but impactful special teams play, with the lone penalty going against Long Beach midway through the frame. In his first appearance of the season, ‘07 Tyler Rothstein made an immediate impact, finding the back of the net to give New Jersey a 1-0 lead after one.
The second period brought plenty more offense, as the teams combined for five goals, four of them coming within a two minute span. The Sharks struck first to even the score thanks to Sean Bailey, but the Titans answered quickly with back-to-back tallies to take a 3-1 lead. Long Beach refused to go away, responding with two quick goals of their own, including a shorthanded tally from Gustav Martinsson, sending the game into the third tied up 3-3.
Longtime Titan Lachlan Haeger put New Jersey back on top early in the final frame, and Jackson Dougherty added an insurance goal to make it 5-3. The Sharks managed to pull within one on Caden Shafer’s second goal of the game, but the Titans stood tall down the stretch to secure their first victory of the season.
Rochester 2 @ Alexandria 5 - Rochester and Alexandria faced off in a cross-divisional midweek matchup, with the Blizzard putting an end to the Grizzlies’ five-game winning streak. Rochester drew three penalties in the first period, and Alexandria made them count as Blake Breiland converted on the man advantage, his second power-play goal of the season.
Just under two minutes into the second frame, the Grizzlies evened the score, but with less than five minutes remaining, the Blizzard struck again on the power play, this time with longtime Alexandria forward Caleb Waller finding the back of the net.
The third period proved to be the busiest of the night, with four goals scored. Rochester opened the frame with a goal to tie things up, but that seemed to ignite Alexandria, who responded with three consecutive goals. Blake Breiland and Caleb Waller each added their second goals of the game, sealing the Blizzard’s victory.
