New Jersey 5 @ Buzz 6 (OT) - After a nail-biting third period, the Buzz sought a comeback over the New Jersey Titans after beating them 6-5 in a thrilling overtime fashion. Today, the Buzz hosted the Titans on home ice. At first, the game went their way, but over time, the Titans had good chances and scoring opportunities that kept the home club on their toes. In the first, the Titans opened the scoring when Trevor Gaul found a lane for Juno Ryu to score on Dalton Elliott. But three minutes later, Magnus Deamond would tie things up; Blake Camomile would be his right-hand man. Then, less than a minute after the tie, the Buzz got themselves another, as Mason Byrant would get the go-ahead goal from a setup by Ilya Baldin. But hold on, before the first buzzer sounded, Deamond grabbed his second of the afternoon to make it 3-1.
Going into the middle frame, both teams traded back and forth with scoring. Yosef Pievsky started things off in the second for the Titans and put them within one. However, the Buzz would go back to work and score a pair of goals to retain their lead. Tannan Nenninger found Andrew Jazwin to bury one past the netminder of Syed Nad-E-Ali; then Seamus Bihari scored five goals for the Buzz and thus made the Titans trail by three. But, after the insurance goal from Bihari, the Buzz went silent for the rest of the regulation. Four minutes before the second buzzer, Jackson Dougherty put one on the board to cap off the second.
Then, for the third, the Titans would go on a tear and completely shock the Buzz. New Jersey started off the first two minutes of play with two unanswered goals and effectively tied the score at five apiece. Ivan Korshikov, with no need for help, started things off for the final period. Then, 11 seconds later, Junsang Park tied it up with some help from Ryu, and consequently ushered in bonus hockey: overtime.
In overtime, the Buzz would make up for giving away their previous lead by capping down on New Jersey and taking the game in OT. At 3:19, Baldin passed to Chicherin for him to seal the deal and take this game 6-5 over the Titans.
