Bayou State 1 @ Texas R 11 - In another weekend rematch, the Texas Roadrunners extended their season record to 21 wins after blowing out the Bayou State Rougarou again on home ice. On Saturday, the Roadrunners narrowly defeated them 5-3 while picking up their 20th win. However, yesterday afternoon, the club made sure of not having a tight score like that, and capped off the weekend with a bang. No, the score of 11-1 is not a typo, so let's run through how it went down. Late in the first period, the Rougarou opened the scoring, as Peyton Essex was set up by Lukas Kolka. And then after that, the Roadrunners silenced them by scoring 11 unanswered for the next 40 minutes of play. For the second, Texas heard the message loud and clear from veteran head coach Mike Beavis to score some points, and so they did. 30 seconds into the frame, Vincent Campbell tied it on the power play. Minutes later, he would do it again on another PP opportunity to break the tie. At 12:30, Joe Izzo took it from there and gave the Roadrunners a two-goal lead, as he was set up by Campbell. Then, about two minutes after that, they added another when Izzo fed to Lucas Dyer. And before the second buzzer sounded, the team decided that four unanswered simply wasn't enough; they needed to add five. Kurtis Brachlow racked up his third point of the game and scored himself a goal on the PP to cap off the electric middle frame. If you thought five goals in a period were a lot, be ready for six in the third. Six minutes into the final frame, Logan Diskey chipped one for William Heskett to score shorthanded. Bounce back to another power play run, and the Roadrunners would score again, as Izzo got another from a setup by Heskett and Brachlow. Catch your breath, because ten seconds after that, they would score again before the Rougarou had a chance to blink, as Ronin Draffan would get it done after a faceoff win from Quinn Mayo. Fast forward five minutes, and Izzo fed to Dyer to score a shorty. Then at the two-minute mark, the Roadrunners ran through another PP opportunity and would capitalize on it again, as Nathan Pickett was set up by Draffan. And the final one scored would be on, you guessed it, another PP run. Alex McMillian scored the game-winning goal from a cycle by his linemates Dyer and Jacob Brown. After all of that, the final shots-on-goal tally was 65-36 in favour of Texas. In addition, the three stars of the game went to Izzo with two goals, Campbell also with two goals, and the third title was awarded to Dyer, who also had two goals.

Tulsa 3 @ Austin 6 - The Austin Ice Bats once again had another victorious competition over the Tulsa Oilers on home ice, shutting them down 6-3. Here's how Sunday's slate went down. In the first period, Garrett Morris lit the lamp first for the Bats, as he was set up by Nash Byrant and Georgii Tokarskii. About a minute later, they would score again to extend their lead by two, when Morris sauced for Mason Manderfield to tuck one past Jack Salverson. Then exactly a minute after, the Oilers responded, as Chase Boswell got it done with the help of his linemate Caleb Gamboa. Before the buzzer sounded, Sol Levy brought back the lead for the Bats and would carry it over into the second. For the middle frame, Boswell would jailbreak his way to the net and decrease the trail by a goal on the penalty kill. Several minutes later, the Bats went back to work and returned the lead to two, when Jake Bamback got it done from a cycle by Guhnar Hillman and Arys Peradi. Seconds before the buzzer, Bamback fed to Morris for him to collect his second of the night and increase the lead to three. Late into the third, the Oilers snuck one by Collin Rosenau to add breathing room to the score of 5-3. However, Hillman made that breathing room go away when he picked up his third point of the game by scoring the game-winner.

Texas B 3 @ New Mexico 1 - The Texas Brahmas continue to be unstoppable in the NA3HL, as yesterday they picked up their 13th-straight win of the season after defeating the New Mexico Ice Wolves 3-1. Here's how Sunday's central matchup went down. In the first period, neither team would come up with a score. But later in the second, the Brahmas opened the scoring when Shayne Hesse lasered the puck in while empty-handed. Minutes later, at the three-minute mark, Calahan Butler tied it up from an assist by Jack Williams. For the third, the Brahmas took it from there and called it a game by cutting off the Wolves from any scoring opportunities. Aleksandrs Jelisejevs got the go-ahead goal late in the period, when he was set up by Xavier Othon. Then, with 4 seconds remaining on the clock, as Nathan McFall for the Wolves was pulled for an extra attacker, the Brahmas capitalized on the empty net to seal the deal; Patrick Garvey was the one responsible for calling the game.
