Sunday Wrap-up: The Grizzlies Secure a Sunday Matinee Win
Rochester featured a 4-3 victory over St. Louis

Texas R 8 @ Atlanta 2 - In a battle in the Southeast, the RoadRunners were looking to continue their winning ways against the Capitals. On Sunday, the RoadRunners got the scoring started thanks to a trio of goals in the first period. Luca Dyer finds the back of the net 30 seconds into the matchup, with William Heskett tallying two goals midway through the period. Atlanta’s Maddox Woulfin scores at the 3:03 minute mark, tightening up the contest as it moves into the second frame. The middle period featured another trio of goals by the Texas team. Ronin Draffan got the scoring started, with Joseph Izzo and Lucas Dyer scoring 10 minutes later in the period for the RoadRunners. With a commanding 6-1 lead, the matchup moves into the final 20 minutes. Atlanta’s Josiah Castaneda finds the back of the net on the man advantage for the Capitals at the 17:20 minute mark. Seven minutes later, Hillard Johnmeyer scored short-handed for the RoadRunners. With 3:35 on the board, Texas’ Dyer notches his third of the contest, securing a hat trick performance. The RoadRunners leave with an 8-2 win against the Capitals.
Rochester 4 @ St. Louis 3 - In a Sunday matinee special, the Jr. Blues played host to the Grizzlies. The matchup started with Rochester lighting the lamp twice in the first frame. Dominic Arndt found the back of the net on the man advantage around the 11-minute mark. Following that goal, Rochester’s Alex Arneson scores with 31 seconds on the clock to give the Grizzlies a two-goal advantage heading into the middle frame. The Jr. Blues would respond with a power-play tally by Brady Cook at the 15:06 minute mark. Following that, Brett Ludvigsen added to the Grizzlies' lead with a goal minutes later. Looking to keep the contest tight, St. Louis’ Jace Jordan scores less than a minute later to bring the Jr. Blues within one of the Grizzlies. However, Rochester responded again, this time with a goal by Ole Fevold on the man advantage. Heading into the final 20 minutes, the Jr. Blues were hungry to tighten the score. Within the first 13 seconds of the period, Joseph LoPiccolo scores to bring St. Louis within one. The contest would then go on to feature both teams trading chances; however, the Grizzlies would come out on top with a 4-3 victory.
Pelham 2 @ Carolina 11 - The Carolina Rage featured a raging performance at home. The matchup kicked off with Pelham lighting the lamp first, thanks to a tally by Parker McCown. Following that early goal, Carolina responded with a trio of goals. Issac Emmerich scored on the man advantage midway through the period. Following him, Layden Anderson found the back of the net seven minutes later, and Reece Beckwith scored in a buzzer-beater fashion to end the period. The middle frame featured another trio of goals by the Rage. Emmerich scored on the man advantage again for the Rage before James Parnell found the back of the net on the power play. Following that duo of goals, Pelham’s Lorenzo Pekarek scores his fifth goal of the season. The Rage would then go on to score another goal on the man advantage, this time, Roman Brown securing the tally. The final frame featured the Rage finding the back of the net five times. Travis Anderson tallied his first two goals of the season with Parnell behind him, scoring his second power-play goal of the contest. Will Adam would add a goal to grow the Rage’s lead before Anderson Cornwell would score the final goal of the game for Carolina.
