Monday Matchup: Austin Secures Series Win Against New Mexico
The Ice Bats featured a 4-2 victory over the Ice Wolves

Austin 4 @ New Mexico 2 - The Ice Bats finished out their four-game homestand against the Ice Wolves on Monday morning. The game kicked off with both teams trading chances in the opening frame, but neither team found the back of the net. Heading into the second frame, the Ice Wolves light the lamp first thanks to a power-play tally by Tanner Ross. Following that goal, the Ice Bats got to work and tallied three goals. Arys Perardi found the back of the net first at the 13:41 minute mark in the period. Following shortly behind him, Matthieu LeBlanc scored a little over a minute later to give the Ice Bats the lead. With 31 seconds on the clock, Austin’s Jake Bamback finished off the trio of goals with his 24th tally of the season. Moving into the final 20 minutes, New Mexico’s Grant Sexton tightened the score with a goal at the 4:33 minute mark, bringing the Ice Wolves within one of the Ice Bats. However, the Ice Bats would come out victorious when Ethan Salter scored the insurance goal with 37 seconds to spare in the final frame. The Ice Bats skated away with a 4-2 victory and secured three out of four wins on the road.
