Rochester 1 @ Wausau 2 - The Wausau Cyclones edge out a tightly contested game to pick up a win at home against the Rochester Grizzlies. The Grizzlies got on the board first with Mason Decker opening up the scoring less than two minutes into the game. After a strong effort for the remainder of the period, the Cyclones were able to find the equalizer at the end of the first frame with Sean Hall tying the game heading into the first intermission. In the second and third periods, both teams struggled to stay out of the penalty box, but it was the Cyclones who were able to convert. On one of their four powerplays this game, Eiji Hofmann found the back of the net to give the Cyclones a 2-1 lead. The remainder of the game was extremely close, with the final shot count being 41-39 in favor of the Cyclones, but the score remained the same, and Wausau secured the win. Both goalies performed very well, keeping their teams in the game, but the Cyclones’ netminder, Brady Faille, was the main star tonight, stopping 38 of 39.
