New Year’s Eve Action Caps Off 2025

Minnesota (M) 1 @ Minnesota (W) 0: The Minnesota Moose kept their momentum rolling after a 3–0 showing at the Showcase, extending their win streak to five with a 1–0 victory over the Wilderness. It was a goaltending duel all night, as Gabe Otis for the Moose and Jay Svaren for the Wilderness both delivered standout performances. The game’s lone goal came late in the first period, with just under 30 seconds remaining in the opening frame. Newcomer Aidan Diehl found the back of the net for his first goal with the Moose, doing so in his fourth game with the team. Special teams proved to be a major factor in the Moose’s win. Their penalty kill unit, ranked seventh overall in the league, was flawless, holding the Wilderness scoreless as they went 0-for-8 on the power play. Otis turned aside all 28 shots he faced, earning his third shutout of the season and securing his fifth consecutive win.

Butte 2 @ Great Falls 6: The Butte Irish went on the road to take on the Great Falls Americans. The Americans would strike first scoring the only goal in the first period, Ethan Miller scoring with an assist from AJ Prioli and Cooper Clouse. In the second period the Irish would get on the board with a power play goal from Loghan Weber, Easton Langemo and Bryce Hodges getting the assist. The Americans would then answer back to take the lead, AJ Prioli scoring with an assist from Ethan Miller and Cooper Clouse, his second of the game. AJ Prioli would score again with the assist coming from Miller and Clouse again. Then Prioli would finish his hat trick with another assist from Ethan Miller and Cooper Clouse. In the final period the Irish would score on another power play goal from Loghan Weber, once again Easton Langemo and Bryce Hogdes assisting him. The Americans wouldn’t let up though scoring another goal, Jaxen Savage scoring with an assist from Tallon Caron and Wyatt Rust. To finish the game the Americans would score on an empty net with a goal from Wyatt Hanna, Jase Troyer and Keegan Hanson picking up the assist. The Americans handle business over the Irish 6-2.
