Drillers and Lumberjacks Close the Weekend with Sunday Victories

Granite City 8 @ Mason City 2: The Granite City Lumberjacks went on the road to take on the Mason City Toros for game two of their weekend series. In the opening period the Toros would get on the board first with a power play goal from Weston Bohlman, Dom Despenas and Kellen Kantaris picking up the assist. The Lumberjacks would then answer back with a goal from Garrett Plaude, Ty Smith getting the assist. In the second period the Lumberjacks would take the lead with an Easton Sankey goal, being assisted by Eli Tiernan. Just 25 seconds later the Lumberjacks would knock another one in from Alexander Zelazowski, assisted by Carter Oothoudt. They would extend their lead even further with a goal from Jackson Engberg, Prentiss Maier and Ty Smith getting another assist. Teagan Dodge would then light up the scoreboard for the Lumberjacks, Jackson Bielenberg-Howarth and Micah Saxon each getting an assist. The Lumberjacks would score again this time on a power play goal from Tyler Starich, Jackson Engberg and Carter Oothoudt getting his assist second. Carter Oothoudt would then get a goal of his own, Easton Sankey and Michael Schmidt getting the assist. Before the end of the second period the Toros would finally stop the onslaught, Kellen Kartaris scoring on a power play, Blaze Bauer and Dom Despenas getting another assist. In the final period the lone goal would belong to the Lumberjacks, Drew Thompson scoring with an assist from Tyler Starich and Coltin Wassengeso. The Lumberjacks get a huge bounceback win on the 8-2 over the Toros.
Louisiana 12 @ Bayou State 0: The absolute dominant Louisiana Drillers went on the road to take on the Bayou State Rougarou. The Drillers would live up to their reputation in this game starting the opening with 3 straight goals. Brody Neish scoring on a power play, Braden Bates and Skyler Tompkins getting the assist. Then Draydin Johnson would score with an assist from Kadyn Garcia and Carter Gnau. After that Matthew Killen would get on the board, Zachary Marsell and Logan Woods picking up the assist. In the second period Brody Neish would score again, Isaac Erickson and Brody Haas getting the assist. Carter Gnau would then get a goal of his own on a power play, Matthew Killen and Draydin Johnson returning the assist. Then with just 46 seconds left in the second period, Carter Tymchak would score a short handed goal, Brody Haas with another assist. In the final period the Drillers would take 30 seconds to score again, Emerson Laroche on a power play, Dante Zaffarano and Brayden Pelcl picking up the assist. Brody Haas would then get his goal with an assist from Carter Tymchak and Luke Whitehead. Matthew Killen would then score his second goal of the game, Logan Woods and Nathan Moore with the assist. Brayden Pelcl would put one in the back on the net with an assist from Emerson Laroche and Kadyn Garcia. Isaac Erickson would then score on a short handed goal, Kadyn Garcia with yet another assist. With just 2 seconds left the Drillers would rub salt in the wound with a goal from Dante Zaffarano, Logan Woods and Zachary Marsell each getting another assist. The Drillers remain dominant in a 12-0 shutout win over the Rougarou, completing the three game weekend sweep.
