Mason City Forward Gibson Makes College Commitment

The Mason City Toros of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that forward TJ Gibson has committed to play ACHA Division I college hockey for the University of Jamestown (Jamestown, North Dakota).

For the past two seasons, the Rochester, Minnesota native has been a key part of the Toros’ offense. Across his two seasons with the Toros, Gibson has recorded 77 total points in 88 games, leaving the forward at just under a point a game for the entirety of his NA3HL career.  

The significant improvement in point scoring from the first to the second season in the league by Gibson impressed many. Gibson almost doubled his offensive output from the 2024-25 to the 2025-26 season. 

2024-25: 27 total points in 41 games (13 goals, 14 assists).

2025-26: 50 total points in 47 games (25 goals, 25 assists).

“TJ has been outstanding for us this season,” said Mason City Toros head coach Alex North. “His commitment to improving the small details of his game has directly translated into increased productivity. He shows up every day ready to work and consistently brings a strong work ethic. I am extremely proud of TJ and look forward to watching him compete and succeed at the next level.”

The best performance of the 2025-26 season from Gibson came on Oct. 17 against the Minnesota Wilderness. Gibson recorded two goals and two assists in the Toros’ 7-6 victory over the Wilderness. 

Gibson is one of four players from the Mason City Toros to make a college commitment this season.
