Norwich Forward Krizan Makes College Commitment
The Norwich Sea Captains of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that defenseman, Kolin Krizan, has committed to play ACHA Division III college hockey for Columbia University (New York, New York).
Krizan spent two seasons in the NA3HL. He began his NA3HL career with the Helena Bighorns in the 2024-25 season before joining the Tulsa Jr. Oilers. He then finished out the 2024-25 season with the Norwich Sea Captains, where he remained for the rest of his time in the league.
During the 2025-26 season, he recorded 39 points consisting of 16 goals and 23 assists. He was the lead scorer for the Sea Captains.
“I am absolutely thrilled for Kolin that he will be able to continue his academic and hockey careers at Columbia University. He was an integral piece of our team since his acquisition from Tulsa during the 2024-25 season through this year when he led our team in points and assists,” said Sea Captain’s head coach, Kevin Cunningham. “Kolin’s competitive fire was a constant during his time in a Sea Captains uniform. He reached his goal of gaining admission to a top tier university and having the opportunity to continue his hockey career at the collegiate level. Congratulations to Kolin and his family on this remarkable accomplishment!”
Krizan’s best performance of the year came on Jan. 30 against the New Hampshire Jr. Mountain Kings. He scored two goals and recorded one assist to aid in the Sea Captain’s close 4-3 victory over the Jr. Mountain Kings.
Krizan is one of six players from the Norwich Sea Captains to make a college commitment this season.
