NA3HL Announces Week 3 Stars of the Week
The North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) is pleased to announce the Divisional Stars of the Week for week 3 of the 2026-27 season. This weekly award recognizes the top-performing players from each of the league’s six divisions, as nominated by their head coaches, for their outstanding contributions on the ice.
Please note the West division has not played yet.
Central Division Star of the Week: Konnor Goclan, Forward, Rochester Grizzlies
Konnor Goclan, a veteran for the Rochester Grizzlies, put together a four point performance in a series against the Wausau Cyclones, earning him a Star of the Week nomination. On Friday, he scored the first goal of the game and recorded one assist in the third period, helping the Grizzlies cruise to a 7-3 victory over the Cyclones. On Saturday he once again opened up the scoring for the Grizzlies in the first period. The captain would go on to score the last goal of the game in the third, leading the Grizzlies to a 3-1 win over the Cyclones to sweep the series.
Grizzlies head coach Marty Raymond talked about his leadership qualities and his impact on the team.
“Konnor Goclan is a leader on our team not only for his captain status, but simply because he plays the right way on both sides of the ice. He had a great weekend, leading our squad against a very good Wausau team. We are happy for his league recognition today and pleased to have him on our side.”

3rd Star: Cam Hovden, Forward, Wisconsin Woodsmen
East Division Star of the Week: James Steinberg, Defenseman, Long Beach Sharks
The ‘07 defenseman from New York, James Steinberg put together a big opening weekend performance on the ice this past weekend against the New Jersey Titans. He recorded five total points during two games. He opened his weekend up with two assists on Friday. The Sharks would go on to win 6-5. Heading into Saturday, Steinberg found scoring momentum and recorded three out of the Sharks’ five goals, playing an integral role in the Sharks’ comeback. He led his team to a 5-3 win over the Titans.
Sharks head coach Jeff Tory shares more on Steinberg’s playing style and how he impacts his teammates.
“James is a very valuable player to our team's success. He’s very responsible defensively and has excellent hockey IQ that helps to translate his defensive player offensive opportunities for himself and his teammates. The best compliment I can give him is that he makes everyone around him better. ”
2nd Star: Jaxson Sardinha, Forward, New Hampshire Jr. Mountain Kings
3rd Star: Sedrick Swygert Jr, Forward, New Hampshire Jr. Mountain Kings
Frontier Division Star of the Week: Carson Joersz, Forward, Yellowstone Quake
The Yellowstone Quake went on a two game sweep against the Gillette Wild. Leading the charge in scoring efforts for the Quake was Carson Joersz, a veteran from Mandan, North Dakota. He boasted nine points during two games. On Friday, he found the back of the net three times and recorded an assist, participating in all four of Yellowstone’s points that night. On Saturday he took off once again, recording five points during the match. He scored two goals, including one power play tally, and aided his teammates with three assists, leading his team to a 6-5 victory.
Quake head coach Gaetano Moirano spoke more about his breakout performance.
“This was a breakout weekend for Carson. As a returner, he is already back on track and exceeding expectations. Carson’s hockey IQ is off of the charts, and the way he creates time and space is great to watch. We look forward to watching him continue his development and continue to show he is a top forward in this league as the season progresses.”
2nd Star: Dayton Niedert, Forward, Badlands Sabres
3rd Star: Jackson Wagner, Goalie, Butte Irish
South Division Star of the Week: Tanner Ross, Forward, New Mexico Ice Wolves
Tanner Ross continues to lead the New Mexico Ice Wolves in scoring so far for the 2026-27 season. He was named Star of the Week after a seven point weekend performance in a series against the West Texas Wranglers. He put five points on the board on Friday night in the form of three goals and two assists. His performance would pick up again on Sunday night when he found the back of the night twice in the second period, one being a power play goal.
Ice Wolves head coach Isaac Washburn spoke more about Ross’s work on the ice.
“Tanner is a heart and soul type of player who brings a lot of passion both on and off the ice, day after day. It’s been great to see him get some results on the scoresheet to start the year and, to be honest, it’s not much of a surprise because his processes and attention to detail has been consistent. What’s gotten lost a bit is that Tanner has been really strong on both sides of the puck and is developing a solid 200 foot game.”
2nd Star: John Scown, Forward, Tulsa Oilers
3rd Star: Chase Ryburn, Goalie, New Mexico Ice Wolves
Southeast Division Star of the Week: Jacob Hums, Forward, Pelham Prowlers
Jacob Hums, a newcomer from South Bend, Indiana has so far led the Pelham Prowlers in scoring efforts for the 2026-27 season. After a stellar opening weekend and NA3HL debut, his eleven points earned him Star of the Week. The Prowlers opened the season with a three game series against the Bayou State Rougarou. Hums kicked off his season with three points in the form of one goal and two assists. He found a groove on Friday and boasted an impressive seven points, which consisted of five goals and two assists. He rounded out the weekend on Saturday with one assist in the final game of the series. The Prowlers swept the Rougarou with Hums leading the charge.
Prowlers head coach Kevin Kerr talked about Hums and his character both on and off the ice.
“We are really happy and excited for Jacob’s selection this week. Jacob is a great kid, he works hard, and has the right attitude. We’re looking forward to his continued success throughout the season.”
