Wednesday Wins: Long Beach Stays Undefeated

Long Beach 8 @ Garden State 2 - The Long Beach Sharks skated to an 8-2 victory over the Garden State Gamblers. The Sharks' offense was relentless, with Tate Cakir and Eli McCarthy leading the charge, each netting pivotal goals. The opening goal came at 14:13 of the first period as Eli McCarthy, assisted by Kingsley Solomon and Peyton Dahlke, put the Sharks on the board. Just over four minutes later, Tate Cakir doubled the lead at 09:40 with help from Solomon and Anthony Valeriote. Despite the Gamblers' efforts, including a shorthanded goal by Alex Patsilevas at 10:37 in the second period, Long Beach responded with authority. Kingsley Solomon scored a power-play goal at 19:12, followed by Anthony Valeriote's strike at 12:42, further stretching the lead. Filip Piatowski scored a goal at 05:25 for the Gamblers followed by Cakir's second goal of the game to round out the second period. Cakir completed his hat-trick with additional goals in the third period at 14:35 and 00:48, while Roberto Gamez capped the scoring frenzy at 01:35. 

New Mexico 3 @ West Texas 1 - In a hard-fought clash at the Amarillo Ice Ranch, the New Mexico Ice Wolves triumphed over the West Texas Wranglers with a score of 3-1, maintaining their flawless start to the season. The first period was scoreless. The opening goal arrived at 9:56 of the second period, when Bryan Richards of the Wranglers capitalized on a power play, thanks to assists from Gunnar Vick and Jacob Odell. However, the Ice Wolves retaliated swiftly. Michael Manchik equalized at just 00:15 of the second period, assisted by Hunzeker Piersimoni and Grant Sexton. Manchik struck again at 15:33 of the third period, putting the Ice Wolves ahead with assistance from Tanner Ross and Ben Watripont. Tanner Ross sealed the victory with an empty-net goal at 00:34 of the third period, assisted by Brody Ososki and Braden Vander Veen.
