Another Flint player gets call to NAHL
November 1, 2013

In continuing with the numerous numbers of players moving onto the next level, the Flint Junior Generals are pleased to announce that veteran forward Jacob Howie has been traded to the NAHL’s Minot Minotauros and will be in uniform on Friday as the Minotauros take on the Brookings Blizzard.
Howie, 19, is in his third season in the NA3HL. Howie joins teammates Austin Fletcher and Cam Jorgensen, as players who have been called up to the NAHL in this season alone.
“Jake was our leading scorer last season and has played two full seasons in the NA3HL before coming back to us a couple of weeks ago,” said Flint head coach Steve Howard. “He has great speed and a really good skill set. He plays big and creates a lot of turnovers by constantly moving his feet. We are excited for Jake and hope he does well with Minot.”
So far in the 2013-14 season, Howie has appeared in four games with the Junior Generals scoring five points.
Last season, he had 54 points in 42 games played, as he led Flint in scoring.
He began his NA3HL career with the Chicago Hitmen in 2011-12 where he had 16 points in 45 games during his rookie season.
Howie also appeared and play in the NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament in Texa back in May, where he had two points in four games played.
