Sunday Wrap-Up: Jr. Blues sweep Mustangs

St. Louis Jr. Blues 7 @ Peoria Mustangs 2: The Jr. Blues picked up seven straight goals to pick up the weekend sweep over the Peoria Mustangs 7-2. Sam Turner opened up the scoring for both teams when he picked up all the Mustangs offense with two goals in the opening period before the Jr. Blues picked up the offense. Adam Roeder, Christian Argyros and Mike Lozano who all scored three points during the game led the Jr. Blues offense. Billy Hindle stopped 21 shots during the game to pick up the win for the Jr. Blues. Boxscore

Michigan Mountain Cats 2 @ Metro Jets 4: Lucas Linville scored two goals and Brad Hepler added three assists as the Metro Jets picked up a home victory over Michigan 4-2. The Metro Jets got out to a strong start when Alex Holm and Linville scored goals 19 seconds apart to give the Jets a 2-0 lead. Linville added his second 25 seconds into the middle frame before Michigan and Metro traded goals to end the period. Abram Prince scored a goal in the final frame but was not enough offense to catch the Metro Jets. Boxscore

Chicago Junior Bulldogs 1 @ Cincinnati Swords 3: The Cincinnati Swords had a big game from goaltender Alec Rounds with 27 saves as he held the Junior Bulldogs to one goal during a 3-1 victory. The Swords capitalized on the power play converting on two of four with Thomas Clayton and Nikita Korotkov getting the goals for Cincinnati. Matt Blaszkiewicz picked up a goal for the Bulldogs continuing his point streak to six games. RJ Marshall picked up an empty netter to seal the victory for the Swords. Boxscore

Topeka Capitals 7 @ Battle Creek Jr. Revolution 1: Hardijis Kupaks had another big game for the Capitals scoring two goals and three assists to lead Topeka to a 7-1 victory over Battle Creek. Jude Hull stopped 29 Battle Creek shots to pick up the victory for the Capitals. Chris McCausland scored the Revolutions lone goal on the power play. Benton Deanovich helped Kupaks with the offensive output for Topeka picking up three points during the game. Boxscore

Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks 2 @ Flint Junior Generals 5: The Junior Generals picked up goals from five different players during a 5-2 victory over the Jr. Lumberjacks. Mark McGee and Trevor Benaglio picked up goals in the first period to get the early lead for Flint. The 2nd period opened with the Jr. Lumberjacks tying the game with goals from Stefan Horgas and Nick Balavich. The lead was quickly back with Flint when Austin Fletcher scored on the power play to secure the lead for good. Jacob Lainesse and Britt Brothen picked up goals in the final frame to seal the victory for Flint. Boxscore

Granite City Lumberjacks 4 @ Minnesota Flying Aces 0: Granite City goaltender Austin Wilson stopped 21 shots to pick up his second shutout of the year in a 4-0 victory over the Minnesota Flying Aces. Christian Mohs was the offensive catalyst for the Lumberjacks scoring two goals and an assist including a shorthanded empty net goal that sealed the victory for Granite City. Minnesota goaltender Jaxson Gosnell stopped 40 shots during the game but still picked up the loss during the game. Boxscore
