Jets, Cherokee roll to sweeps over weekend
West Michigan 2 @ Metro 7 – Sean Smalley got the first goal of the night for West Michigan with an assist from Tim Foley. In the 2nd period, the Jets came out strong and never let up with five unanswered goals. The goals came from: Matt Dempsey, Devin Kelly, Chris Williams, and Graham Day. In the 3rd, the Jets got the first goal of the period on the power play with a goal from Pearce Vance. The Wolves countered with a goal from Sean Smalley for his second of the night. Toledo 5 @ Cincinnati 3 – Toledo gets the win tonight with a five to three win over Cincinnati. Toledo comes out first with two goals from Cane Maison and Cody Estrel. Cincinnati counters with three unanswered goals coming from Ramsey Mayne, Marc Anderson, and Hunter Schneider. In the 2nd period, Toledo gets a short-handed goal from Cody Estrel to tie the game at three a piece. Shortly after, Brody Duncan scores for Toledo to put them up by one. Southern Tier 2 @ Pittsburgh 4 – Justin Andriaccio started the scoring off in the 1st period with a short-handed goal for the Xpress. In the 2nd, Pittsburgh gets on the board with a goal from Cody Black on the power play. The Xpress counter with a goal shortly after from Brandon Desrosiers. In the 3rd, it was all Pittsburgh with goals coming from Michael Straub, Cody Black on the power play, and Brennan Osen with an empty netter. Boxscore
Chicago 2 @ Peoria 3 – With an exciting finish to tonight’s game, the Mustangs take the win in a shoot out three to two. Chicago gets on the board first with a goal from Niko Moulakelis. Dane Kalas gets the second goal for Chicago with an assist from Michael Howard. There was no scoring in the 2nd period. In the 3rd, Marshall Gevers gets the Mustangs on the board with an assist from Thomas Kolaz. Tieing the game up with a short-handed goal for Peoria was Chance Homerin.
