Steel to host Defend the Blueline Military Night

July 29, 2015

The Twin City Steel of the NA3HL are proud to announce that they will be hosting a Defending the Blue Line Military Night on September 25th, 2015 at the White Bear Lake Sports Center. The puck will drop at 7:00 pm as the Steel are set to play host to the Granite City Lumberjacks.

Defending The Blue Line (DTBL) was established and incorporated by a group of active duty soldiers in the spring of 2009 with the spirit of keeping hockey alive for the children of our nation’s military heroes.

It is their mission at Defending The Blue Line (DTBL) to ensure that children of military members are afforded every opportunity to participate in the game of hockey. Visit www.defendingtheblueline.com

They accomplish this by providing free hockey equipment (courtesy of the National hockey League Player Association’s Goals and Dreams Foundation, Easton, and Graf Canada), access to some of the finest summer hockey camps at no cost, and grants to help with local association fees.

“The Steel are very excited to partner with Shane and Defending the Blueline to help raise funds for Military families around the nation” said Steel head Coach Jay Witta. “We will be auctioning off our Stars & Stripes jerseys that were custom made for the night. We also look forward to local musician Tim Mahoney singing the National Anthem! It’s going to be an exciting night for the Steel players, families and fans.”

The Steel encourages everyone from the White Bear Lake and surrounding area’s to come out and support this special event. A portion of our game ticket sales, raffle ticket items, the auctioned player jerseys, as well as additional sponsor donations from Great Clips, Walser, Summit Orthopedics will all go towards an effort to support DTBL.
