Euless forward Kraus makes college commitment

July 29, 2016
The Euless Jr. Stars of the NA3HL are proud to announce that forward Ben Kraus of Chesterfield, Missouri has committed to play ACHA Division II hockey for Lindenwood University in Wentzville, Missouri.

Kraus (6'0/183) will start off on the ACHA Division II team with the hopes of making the ACHA Division I team, who recently won the ACHA Division I National Championship this past season.

Kraus, 19, came to Euless in the early months of last season after being acquired from the Helena Bighorns of the NA3HL Frontier Division. Krause was one of our assistant captains as he was not only a good leader off the ice, but most importantly on the ice as he was tied for the team in points with 16 goals and 21 assists for 37 points in 43 games.

Krause was the top penalty killer during the 2015-16 season, as he recorded five shorthanded goals. Kraus was also named the NA3HL South Division Star of the Week on November 24th. He was also selected to play in the 2016 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament, but could not attend due to injury.

"As a staff we are extremely excited for Ben and his commitment. He is a great individual in all aspects. He will be missed and hard to replace. He has pushed him self to get to where he is today. We can’t say enough about Ben and wish him the best of luck on his new journey playing college hockey,” said Stars head coach Don Babineau.
