Granite City keeps pace with win over North Stars

Granite City Lumberjacks 5 vs. Breezy Point North Stars 4-Two late goals for the Granite City Lumberjacks powered them to a 5-4 win over the Breezy Point North Stars. Jack Walter, Matthew Sprink (2), Ryan Smith, and William Sprink scored for Granite City, while Christian Lenzmeier, Alex Flicek, Ryan Higgins, and Tyler Larwood got on the scoreboard for the North Stars. Defensively, Lumberjack goalie MAc Berglove made 19 saves, while Bronson Moore stopped 37 shots for Breezy Point. 
 
Wisconsin Whalers 4 vs. La Crosse Freeze 2-Two third period goals helped the Wisconsin Whalers to a 4-2 win over the La Crosse Freeze. Drew Steines, Matt Resch, Jordan Hylbert, and Jake Faulkner scored for the Whalers, and JP Eykyn and Kadin Machusak netted one each for the Freeze. In net, Elliot Gerth stopped 42 shots for Wisconsin, while Will Graves made 27 saves for La Crosse.
 
Alexandria Blizzard 3 vs. Rochester Ice Hawks 1-A pair of goals from Alexandria Blizzard Emil Lindfors helped secure a 3-1 win over the Rochester Ice Hawks. Riley Meyer also scored for the Blizzard, while Spencer Hadacek notched the lone Ice Hawk goal. Michael Hughes made 21 saves for Alexandria, and Drew Schenkenberg stopped 52 shots on the Rochester net. 
 
New Ulm Steel 4 vs. Willmar War Hawks 3 (OT)-The Willmar War Hawks tied it up in the third to send the game to overtime, where Fritz Belisle notched one for the New Ulm Steel to secure the 4-3 OT win. Orlando Scherz, Jared Erickson, and Cory Martinez scored for the Steel in regulation, and Riley Tigrett, Jordan Cooper, and Max Oelkers earned points for the War Hawks. In net, Jon Albers stopped 30 shots for New Ulm, and Nick Althaus made 30 saves for Willmar.
 
Bozeman Icedogs 10 vs. Billings Bulls 5-The Bozeman Icedogs  came out strong to cruise to a 10-5 win over the Billings Bulls. Steven Nisbet, Austin Charnholm(2), Beckett Patten (2), Carmon Teel (3), and Gabe Rankin (2) earned points for the Icedogs, and Ludvig Omdal, Ryan Brown, Austin Lange, Daniel Johansson, and Corbin Emery scored for the Bulls. Between the pipes,  Bozeman netminder Benjamin Sakaria made 24 saves, while Simo Huhtanen stopped 41 shots for Billings.
