May 9, 2017
The La Crosse Freeze, proud members of the NA3HL, are excited to announce that forward JP Eykyn has committed to play NCAA Division III collegiate hockey for the Gustavus Adolphus hockey program.
Eykyn (6'1/185) helped lead the Freeze in just his second full season with the organization. As a rookie in 2015-16 the native from Waseca, Minnesota finished with seven goals and 21 assists for a total of 28 points in 43 career games. In his second season with the Freeze he played in 45 games, finishing the season with 17 goals and 26 assists for 43 points.
He finished second on the team in total points and tied for second in assists.
Eykyn, a 20-year-old forward, competed in the 2017 NA3HL Top Prospects tournament competing in all three games and finishing with three assists for the gold team.
With a year left of juniors eligibility, Eykyn commits to Gustavus Adolphus a year removed from two former Freeze players (Jared Bromberg and Reid Brown) doing the same.
The Freeze would like to thank JP for his hard work and dedication the past two seasons with the organization and wish him the best of luck as he continues his academic and athletic careers.
