Granite City forward Bielenberg-Howarth makes NCAA commitment

The Granite City Lumberjacks of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that forward Lyncoln Bielenberg-Howarth has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Dubuque University.

Bielenberg-Howarth, 20, appeared in 32 games during the 2022-23 regular season, 16 of which were with the Lumberjacks. The 6’0/180 lbs. native of Oronoco, MN, began the season playing for the Rochester Grizzlies, where he recorded 23 points in 16 games played.

In December, Bielenberg-Howarth was traded to Granite City where he posted 11 points in 16 regular season games. He also put up seven points in eight Fraser Cup Playoff games, helping the Lumberjacks to the 2023 Fraser Cup Championship.

“We couldn’t be happier for Lyncoln. Day 1 when he stepped into our locker room from Rochester he made an immediate impact on the ice but also in the locker room. He brought that extra ounce of leadership we needed to achieve our ultimate goal. Dubuque is getting a very good player but also great person as well. We can’t wait to see what he can do next year with a new team,” said Co-Head Coach DJ Vold.

During the 2021-22 season, Bielenberg-Howarth posted 24 points in 18 regular season games for the Rochester Grizzlies. He also recorded six points in nine Fraser Cup Playoff games, helping the Grizzlies to the 2022 Fraser Cup title.

Bielenberg-Howarth made his junior hockey debut during the 2019-20 season in the NAHL with the Austin Bruins. He also played in the NAHL for the Jamestown Rebels during the 2021-22 season.

Prior to playing junior hockey, Bielenberg-Howarth spent the 2018-19 season playing in the NAPHL for the Madison Capitols 16U team where he recorded two points in 11 games played.
