NA3HL announces Bauer Hockey Stars of the Week

The North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) today announced the Divisional Stars of the Week presented by Bauer Hockey for the week ending October 22, 2023. The Divisional Stars of the Week is an award given each week of the regular season to the top performing players in each of the five divisions of the NA3HL as nominated by their head coaches.

 

Central Division Star of the Week: Antonio Gomez, Forward, Wausau Cyclones

Wausau Forward Antonio Gomez totaled seven points in two appearances. In a two game set against the Peoria Mustangs, the Somerset, WI native opened the weekend up with a six point night with three goals and three assists. He followed up that first night with a one goal contest. Gomez has played in 11 games this season and has combined for 11 points. 

2nd Star: Will Falconer, D, Oregon Tradesmen

East Division Star of the Week: Chris Hamilton, Defense, Norwich Sea Captains

Norwich Sea Captains defenseman Chris Hamilton had himself a weekend recording six points in three games played. In the first two showings of the weekend, the Ridgefield, CT native added an assist in each game. In the third game of the weekend, the blue-liner netted three goals (two power play, one even strength) and dished out an assist for a four point game. Hamilton has appeared in eight games this season and has a combined seven points.

Frontier Division Star of the Week: Braden Cunningham, Forward, Helena Bighorns

Helena Bighorns forward Braden Cunningham lit up the scoresheet in two games over the weekend to earn the Frontier Division Star of the Week. Cunningham, a Helena, MT native helped his hometown team stay perfect on the season winning both games on home ice against the Bozeman Ice Dogs. In the first game, Cunningham recorded a goal and two assists. He followed that up by putting on a show for the home crowd netting four goals on the night. Braden has played in 10 games this season and has 11 goals and 7 assists for 18 points so far.

South Division Star of the Week: Alex Croy, Goalie, Atlanta Capitals

Atlanta Capitals netminder Alex Croy was called upon twice over the weekend where he was strong between the pipes winning in both appearances. The Flower Mound, TX native was incredible in the pipes against his home-state team, Texas RoadRunners. Croy turned away 68 of the 70 shots he faced, which combined for a 1.00 GAA and a .971 SV%. So far this year, Croy is 3-2 in net, a 3.16 GAA and a .931 SV%.

West Division Star of the Week: Nolan LaCosse, Goalie, Alexandria Blizzard

Alexandria Blizzard goaltender Nolan LaCosse picked up two wins in net to earn the West Division Star of the Week. The Stillwater, MN native faced two different opponents in back-to-back nights. In his first start of the weekend, LaCosse stopped 20 of the 21 shots against the Minnesota Loons. He followed that game up with a great showing against the Rochester Grizzlies where he shrugged off 34 of 35 shots. LaCosse holds a 7-1-1-0 record this season with a combined 1.985 GAA and a .932 SV%. 

2nd Star: Thomas Gerum, F, Granite City Lumberjacks
