Friday Finals: Wausau clinches playoff spot with win

Noriwch forward Blake Alexander had a hat-trick in a 7-1 win on Friday.

Wisconsin Woodsmen 2 @ Wausau Cyclones 4: The Cyclones became the first team in the Central Division to clinch a playoff spot in a 4-2 win. In the first period the Wausau Cyclones scored two goals both by Ricky Nelson making the score 2-0. In the second period, the Wisconsin Woodsmen scored a goal by Jack Laser, and one goal for the Wausau Cyclones was scored by Gabe Randel making the score 3-1. In the third period, the Wisconsin Woodsmen scored a goal by Nicholas O’Brien, and one goal for the Wausau Cyclones scored by John Kriz making the final score 4-2. Brady Faille saved 27 shots for the win, while Kirill Guryev saved 24 shots in the loss.  

New Jersey Titans 1 @ Norwich Sea Captains 7: Starting off the night with a slow first period we head into the second period, where the Norwich Sea Captains scored two goals by Blake Alexander, and Tim Hayden making the score 2-0. In the third period the Norwich Sea Captains scored five goals by Aidan Raedy, Erik Masengill, two by Blake Alexander giving him the only Hat Trick of the night, and one goal by Skylar Bawcom, and one goal for the New Jersey Titans scored by Maxim Mavrin making the final score 7-1. Peter Alfano saved 15 shots for the win, while Avery Rovira-Hewitt saved 44 shots and Aidan Patterson saved 3 shots in the loss. 

St Louis Jr Blues 4 @ Peoria Mustangs 5: Starting off in the first period the Peoria Mustangs score a goal by Blake Mitchell making the score 1-0. In the second period, the Peoria Mustangs scored three goals two by Wyatt O’Donoghue, and one by Colin Cash, and two goals for the St Louis Jr Blues scored by Matthew Jost, and Kelly Coldwater making the score 4-2. In the third period, the St Louis Jr Blues scored two goals by Kelly Coldwater, and Carter Zimmer, and one goal for the Peoria Mustangs scored by Zachary Lascasse making the final score 5-4. Kason Yamada saved 34 shots for the win, while Jordan Behnen saved 21 shots in the loss.

Texas Brahmas 11 @ Mid Cities Jr Stars 0: In the first period the Texas Brahmas scored four goals by Cameron Colberg, Joey Crowley, Grant Baker, and Cameron Deitsch making the score 4-0. In the second period, the Texas Brahmas scored five goals two by Ryan Spreyne, one by Mitchell Berens, Cameron Colberg, and Kaden Spaniol making the score 9-0. In the third period, the Texas Brahmas scored two goals by Grant Baker, and Cameron DiLuzio making the final score 11-0. Luke Romney saved 25 shots for the win and the shutout, while Jack Elliott saved 22 shots and Kameron Ragon saved 18 shots in the loss.
